To me, the ability to build things is very important. It gives you the ability to communicate and actually 'experience' your thoughts in reality. I believe technology to be more art than science.
Algorithms are like Poetry. To me, there is nothing that gives a better 'Aha!' moment than understanding the Design Principles and underlying Working Mechanisms of a well constructed Algorithm. Off late , I've been enchanted with Neural Nets and Machine Learning. More about this later!
OSS project on github with which I aim to provide a good summarized implementation and intuitive explanation of general purpose algorithms taught as a part of college courses or otherwise. Completed a good portion of the Algorithms track on Hackerrank.com so far
Application that produces text self autonomously provided a corpus of training text. The underlying Algorithm is a Markov Model of variable order parametrized by the training text. This results in the writer even capture the 'style' of writing of the training text for higher orders.
Worked on determining the feasibility of Limited Precision Neural Networks during Research Exposition period last year. Was able to obtain good results when the framework was tested for 2 Bit Handwritten Digit Classification indicative of possible applications in Embedded devices
Dual Degree Project : Currently Working on Building ML Based SAT Solvers that Solve the SAT problem approximately by treating it as a classification problem. Employing Multi layer perceptron as well as certain other classification Algorithms. Achieved a good amount of progress

Hey. Don't ever let somebody tell you... You can't do something. Not even me. All right? You got a dream... You gotta protect it. People can't do somethin' themselves, they wanna tell you you can't do it. If you want somethin', go get it. Period."Pursuit of Happiness
